This course aims at introducing teachers to teaching and learning in a hybrid setting, which, especially after COVID-19, has emerged in full swing. The course is self-paced and consists of 6 sessions:

  • What is hybrid learning?-- This session provides an introduction to hybrid learning, its difference from blended learning and what the benefits are.
  • Focus on the student-- In this session, participants will learn more about the challenges of a hybrid setting when it comes to students and techniques to keep the students motivated and engaged.
  • Focus on the teacher-- This session focuses on the benefits of a hybrid setting for teachers and what to consider when preparing courses and lessons in such a setting.
  • Anticipated problems and solutions-- In this session, more in-depth content on when hybrid fails will be shared as well as how teachers can be prepared to tackle them.
  • Assessment-- This session will provide insights on how to conduct formative and summative assessment in a hybrid setting in a practical way.
  • Technologies and tools-- Last but not least, in this session, participants will explore common and more hidden tech gems and how they can use them in a hybrid classroom.

Overall, the course aims to provide participants with both a theoretical and practical foundation to help them set up a hybrid classroom and be ready to overcome adversity and engage students.
